Initiative by the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU) encourages the private sector to voluntarily assume public commitment to ethics and integrity
Brazil’s largest reinsurer, IRB(Re), has joined the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity, an initiative of the Office of the Federal Controller General (CGU). Launched in March, it encourages the private sector to voluntarily assume public commitment to ethics and integrity. In total, 160 companies operating in Brazil have already completed their membership.
“Our membership reinforces our commitment to the future of society. We accelerated the conduction of our business strategy, decentralize decisions and make changes, seeking efficiencies and effectively strengthening relationships with customers and investors. All this with the support of a more vigorous regulatory and governance environment, highlighting our commitment to integrity”, says Marcos Falcão, CEO of IRB(Re), who praised the CGU initiative.“We are committed to strengthening our culture of integrity, sharing principles and adopting concrete actions to positively transform society, in order to enable transparency and respect among partners, customers and employees”, says Eduarda de La Rocque, director of internal controls, risks and compliance at IRB(Re).
Adherence to the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity occurs through signing the commitment term and carrying out a self-assessment of integrity measures. On the CGU website, a panel is available for public consultation that allows monitoring of adhesions in real time.
