IRB announces changes in the board and office considering covid-19 impacts

IRB Brasil RE announces this monday (April 06th) new changes in its board. Isabel Blazquez Solano is the new Reinsurance vice-president and will be responsible for the Subscription and Retrocession areas, in addition to the Buenos Aires and London offices. With an experience of more than 10 years with the reinsurance market, the executive has worked as IRB’s Retrocession, Oil & Gas and International Property & Casualty Subscription officer.

José Farias de Sousa, who was the Reinsurance vice-president, will take the Corporate Strategy and Customer Management vice-president position and will be acting responsible for the Claim and Technical areas, also assisting the CEO Antônio Cássio dos Santos in the activities of the covid-19 Impacts Crisis Office.

“These changes are one more step to strengthen the corporate governance, based on the international best practices for servicing customers and business partners and absolute transparence. In addition, we have unprecedented challenges due to the pandemic. A new scenario that is still being understood and requires special attention”, says Antônio Cássio, adding, on the next 60 days, there will be a transition of reinsurance operations between the vice-presidents.

The company also informed the arrival of Luis Naganime, new Oil & Gas and International Property & Casualty Subscription officer. With a 30-year career in insurance and reinsurance areas, he worked for more than ten years in companies such as AIG RE, Munich RE, Chubb and more recently Mitsui, as Technical and Commercial Corporate officer.
