The Jazz & Bossa Nova Sessions, an unprecedented project that celebrates jazz’s centenary and bossa nova’s 60th anniversary, has just been confirmed and is sponsored by IRB Brasil RE, leader in reinsurance in Latin America. The project will be launched on September 22, at the world’s most famous jazz club, Blue Note, in its Rio de Janeiro branch, Lagoa, and promises nights with the best of Brazilian and international instrumental music.
“We feel very honored and proud for sponsoring this initiative that brings the legends of jazz and bossa nova to one of the most consecrated and intimate clubs in the world, reinforcing the recognition of the Blue Note brand both abroad and now also in Rio de Janeiro”, explains Daniele Sibucs, Marketing and Communication Manager at IRB Brasil RE.
The Blue Note brand was created almost 40 years ago in New York, it is a cultural heritage in the city and has already been the stage of memorable shows of great stars like Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. In Rio, the proposal is similar and the club seeks to bring the best contemporary instrumentalists, promoting the intimacy that only jazz clubs may offer.
The Jazz & Bossa Nova Sessions program gathers more than 40 shows with great interpreters of these two rhythms already consecrated around the world, integrating shows, films and workshops in the same platform for lovers of these musical rhythms. Among the attractions are Leny Andrade, Fernanda Takai, Hamilton de Holanda and Leo Gandelman, singing in honor of Charlie Parker, Pixinguinha, Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes.
The VIP premiere session on September 22, at 8 pm, will be starred by “Os Bossa Nova”, with Marcos Valle, Carlos Lyra, Roberto Menescal and João Donato, honoring the 60 years of this musical genre.
Sponsor of this Project and other ones related to broadening the access to the most diverse shows, IRB Brasil RE reinforces its role as a company that incentives national culture.
