Experts will share knowledge in discussions with leaders from the public and private sectors

The 2nd IRB(P&D) Forum, themed “Risk Transfer: Strategies and Innovations,” will feature prominent figures from the insurance and reinsurance market, government agencies, and experts from Brazil and abroad on August 6th in Rio de Janeiro. Featured speakers include Frederik Bisbjerg, Vice President of eData Information, and Pricilla Santana, Secretary of Finance of Rio Grande do Sul, who will discuss industry challenges.

“It is essential that we prepare for a future that prioritizes artificial intelligence, both for ordinary citizens and business professionals, and for the sustainable future of our companies”, says Bisbjerg, who will address the “Future of Digital Transformation in the Insurance Sector”.

eData Information, represented by the executive, is a regional leader in vehicle and claims data powered by artificial intelligence in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, where insurers’ profitability in underwriting and claims management is increased through the use of AI models.

In the afternoon, Pricilla will share her experience in “Reconstruction after the 2024 Floods in Rio Grande do Sul,” addressing the lessons learned and challenges faced in the wake of the largest climate catastrophe in the state’s recent history. According to her, the 2024 floods had profound impacts on infrastructure, the economy, and, above all, the state government’s fiscal capacity, requiring rapid, coordinated, and sustainable responses.

“In this panel, we will highlight the importance of innovative financing mechanisms, partnerships with the private sector, and risk transfer instruments—such as insurance and catastrophe funds—to strengthen fiscal resilience and expand the response capacity of subnational entities to extreme climate events,” he explains.

With support from the National Confederation of Insurers (CNseg), the forum is open to invitations only and is hosted by IRB(P&D), the IRB(Re) division dedicated exclusively to research and development.
